It seems that Armando Bacot has done everything well this school year.

On Tuesday, he added All-ACC Academic Men’s Basketball Team honors to the All-ACC first-team honors he earned last month.

He is one of three players to make both teams, along with Syracuse’s Buddy Boeheim and Wake Forest’s Alondes Williams.

Bacot, a junior majoring in exercise and sports science (sports administration) with a minor in business administration, was the lone Tar Heel in the 37-player group that all earned at least a 3.0 grade point average in the previous semester and have a 3.0 cumulative average during their academic careers.

Earlier this season, he received the Carolina’s Athletic Director’s Scholar-Athlete Award, made the dean’s list for the fall semester and was the team captain.

On the court, Bacot led the 29–10 Tar Heels in scoring (16.3 points per game), field-goal percentage (56.9%), rebounding (13.1 per game) and blocks (65).

He led the nation with an NCAA-record 31 double-doubles and led the ACC in rebounding and offensive rebounds (4.2 per game). He was the first player to produce six double-doubles in an NCAA tournament.
