North Carolina junior Alyssa Ustby was named to the USA Basketball Women’s 3×3 U23 Nations League roster on Tuesday.
She joins Duke senior Celeste Taylor and Notre Dame junior Maddy Westbeld on the six-player roster after 11 players were invited to try out. Others on the team are Aaliyah Moore of Texas, Kayla Wells of Texas A&M and Maddy Siegrist of Villanova.
The team is in training camp in Miami through Thursday. It will compete in the Nations League within the Americas conference in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, which begins Saturday and runs through Aug. 19.
It’s the USA Basketball debut for Ustby and Siegrist. Ustby got three-on-three experience in May when she played with UNC teammates Kennedy Todd-Williams, Deja Kelly and Ally Zelaya at the USA Basketball 3X Nationals.
Ustby made All-ACC second team last season, averaging 12.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, leading the team and fourth in the ACC in the latter. She was second in the ACC and 33rd in the country with 13 double-doubles.
Directing the team will be head coach Damon Huffman and court coach Lakin Roland.
