Tar Heels in NBA: Green has 18 points, six 3s; Barnes scores 18; White struggles coming off the bench

By R.L. Bynum

Danny Green contributed 18 points and six 3-pointers, including a big shot late in regulation, but they weren’t enough for his Philadelphia 76ers to overcome the Milwaukee Bucks in a 99–96 overtime loss Wednesday.

Green, who struggled with three points the night before in a 99–96 win over New York, had his second-best perimeter shooting game of the season, surpassed only by his nine 3-pointer game Jan. 12 against Miami.

With a 12.2 game score Wednesday, he has double-digit game scores in three of his last four games for only the third time this season.

Tony Bradley was scoreless with seven rebounds in 17 minutes Tuesday and had six points and six rebounds on Wednesday.

In that Sixers-Knicks game Tuesday, Reggie Bullock had 12 points, three 3-pointers, five rebounds and two steals and Theo Pinson didn’t play.

Harrison Barnes scored 13 of his 18 points in the first half of Sacramento’s 121–119 road victory against Washington. He had eight rebounds and five assists for a 19.3 game score, his best in six games.

Coby White has struggled coming off the bench the last two nights with four points in Tuesday’s 123–102 win over Oklahoma City and nine points in Wednesday’s 106–99 loss to San Antonio. White was a combined 5 of 18 from the floor and 1 of 10 from 3-point range in the two games.

White’s 22½ minutes in Wednesday’s game were a season-low.

In that Bulls-Thunder game, Justin Jackson had 10 points and two rebounds in 22 minutes.

In Portland’s 125–124 win Tuesday against New Orleans, Nassir Little had two points and four rebounds in 18 minutes.
