Tar Heels in NBA: White’s up-and-down season ends with productive game in loss; Bullock, Green, Johnson hope to close out series

By R.L. Bynum

An up-and-down season for Coby White and the Chicago Bulls ended Wednesday night with the Milwaukee Bucks finishing off a 4–1 first-round series win.

With Chicago missing its starting backcourt of All-Star Zach Lavine (health and safety protocols) and Alex Caruso (concussion protocol), White had his most productive game of the series in Milwaukee’s 116–100 home victory in Game 5.

In a series-high 31 minutes, 33 seconds, White came off the bench to score a series-high 17 points with a series-high four 3-pointers, three rebounds and a series-high four assists.

The Bulls were once at the top of the Eastern Conference standings but struggled down the stretch after the season-ending injury to point guard Lonzo Ball and finished sixth.

Tony Bradley got into a game for the second time in the series, going scoreless with a rebound and an assist in two minutes.
