Three Tar Heels listed as an inch taller in official men’s basketball roster just released

North Carolina’s men’s basketball team has completed its summer practices and released the team’s official 17-player roster for the 2022–23 season on Wednesday.

The roster shows that fifth-year wing Leaky Black, senior center Armando Bacot and fifth-year senior Pete Nance are all listed as an inch taller than last season. Black was listed as 6–8, 200 pounds last season but is now shown to be 6–9, 205. Bacot has gone from being listed as 6–10, 240 last season to 6–11, 235 this season. Northwestern listed Nance last season as being 6–10, 225 but UNC now lists him as 6–11, 230.

Other differences in listed weights from a year ago include sophomore guard Caleb Love going from 195 pounds to 200 and junior guard Puff Johnson going from 205 pounds to 200. Walk-ons Creighton Lebo (from 170 pounds to 180), Jackson Watkins (175 to 180) and Duwe Farris (from 6–6, 215 to 6–7, 210) all are listed differently.

Coach Hubert Davis will boast one of the most experienced teams in the country with four starters returning from last season’s team that went 29–10 and advanced to the Final Four for an NCAA-record 21st time.

The Tar Heels welcome three freshmen in forwards Tyler Nickel and Jalen Washington and guard Seth Trimble.

UNC will play an Oct. 28 exhibition game in the Smith Center against Johnson C. Smith and open the season at home on Nov. 7 against UNCW.
