Tar Heels in NFL: Hollins catches TD pass, flaps for Seahawks fans in OT win; Carter sprains ankle

By R.L. Bynum

Mack Hollins is having fun, and his Las Vegas Raiders are figuring out a way to win.

Hollins had four catches for 63 yards, including a 36-yard touchdown reception, as the Raiders won in overtime for the second consecutive week, this time 40–34 at Seattle.

Josh Jacobs had the biggest game for Las Vegas with a franchise-record 229 rushing yards and two scores, but Hollins gave it to the Seahawks fans as Jacobs ran for the game-ending 86-yard touchdown run.

Hollins was flapping his arms, presumably like a Seahawk, as he watched Jacobs run the Raiders (4–7) to a victory.

Michael Carter had six carries for 21 yards and two receptions for 15 yards before leaving the New York Jets’ 31–10 home win over Chicago with a sprained ankle. He played only 19 snaps.

Washington placed linebacker Cole Holcomb on injured reserve Friday with a foot sprain. Despite missing the previous four games, Holcomb, who started the first seven games, still led the Commanders in tackles at 69 entering Sunday’s game.

The Commanders won at home against Atlanta 19–13, with Dyami Brown catching the only pass targeted to him for 17 yards in 14 snaps. Sam Howell didn’t play. Defensive tackle Jalen Dalton missed the game for the Falcons with a toe injury.

In the New York Giants’ 28–20 Thursday loss at Dallas, Tomon Fox had one assist in 34 total snaps. Offensive lineman Joshua Ezeudu wasn’t active for the game because of a neck injury.

Tampa Bay activated Giovani Bernard from injured reserve last week but didn’t play him in the Bucs’ 23–17 loss at Cleveland. He hasn’t played this season while recovering from an ankle injury.

Safety M.J. Stewart Jr. had two tackles and recovered a fumble for Houston in the Texans’ 30–15 loss at Miami in 44 total snaps. Offensive lineman Charlie Heck played one offensive snap and one special-teams snap for Houston.

James Hurst started at left tackle for New Orleans in the Saints’ 13–0 loss at San Francisco and played all 57 offensive snaps.

Linebacker Robert Quinn had another quiet game for Philadelphia, only registering a quarterback hit in the Eagles’ 40–33 home win over Green Bay. He only played 11 snaps.

Mitchell Trubisky didn’t play in Pittsburgh’s 24–17 win Monday night at Indianapolis as Coach Jeff Saturday’s Colts lost their second consecutive game after winning in his debut.
