Love scores 13 for Arizona in exhibition to end team’s tour of Israel, UAE 3–0

The summer has been full of new experiences for Caleb Love, who first thought he would transfer from Carolina to Michigan and then joined former UNC assistant coach Steve Robinson at Arizona.

Not only has Love played his first games in an Arizona uniform this month, although they were just exhibitions, he traveled outside of the country for the first time. The team went on a 10-day tour to Israel and the United Arab Emirates, playing in three exhibitions.

“I’m seeing a lot of good sights, a lot of new stuff,” Love said in a video he made. “I’m enjoying my first time out of the country.”

The team visited Jerusalem, Bethlehem, the Western Wall, the Dead Sea and Old City Jaffa before it headed to Abu Dhabi.

Love scored 13 points as Arizona finished an international tour 3–0 with an 85–71 victory Saturday over the Lebanon National Team in Abu Dhabi.

The Wildcats beat the United Arab Emirates Select team 127–90 on Thursday, with Love scoring 11 points.

The team spent six days in Israel, playing the first game in Tel Aviv on Monday. The Wildcats rolled by the Israel Select team 124–77. No summary of that game mentioned Love’s statistics.

Arizona, which went 28–7 last season and lost to Princeton 59–55 in the first round of the NCAA tournament, opens the season on Nov. 10 at Duke.

Love’s 3-pointer against Duke in the 2022 Final Four is one of the most iconic shots in Carolina basketball history, immortalized in the Carolina Basketball Museum.

Love is third in program history in 3-point attempts (630), ninth in 3-pointers (200) and 17th in free-throw percentage (81.5). He made at least one 3-pointer in 85 games, including a school-record 45 consecutive games.
