Hansbrough enters Collegiate Basketball Hall tonight; here’s how to watch

By R.L. Bynum

Tyler Hansbrough is one of five who will be inducted in Chicago on Wednesday night into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame.

The four-time first-team All-American at UNC will enter the Hall with legendary Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski, former Duke star Johnny Dawkins, longtime Division II Jefferson coach Herb Magee and late talent scout Tom Konchalski.

The ceremony begins at 9:15 p.m. ET and will stream here.

Hansbrough, 37, can remind Krzyzewski that the center never lost a game at Cameron Indoor Stadium. He’ll be the 14th former UNC player or coach to enter the Hall.

Other Tar Heels players already in the Hall are Larry Miller (inducted in 2022), Antawn Jamison (2021), Sam Perkins (2018), Charlie Scott (2015), Phil Ford (2012), Billy Cunningham (2006), Bob McAdoo (2006) and James Worthy (2006). Coaches in the Hall are Larry Brown (2006), Ben Carnevale (2006), Frank McGuire (2006), Dean Smith (2006) and Roy Williams (2006).

Hansbrough, one of the stars of UNC’s 2009 national championship team, was the national player of the year in 2008. He’s the only player in ACC history to make first-team All-ACC four times and to lead his team in scoring and rebounding in four seasons.

Hansbrough is the all-time leading scorer in the ACC and at UNC with 2,872 points, which is 16th in NCAA Division I history. He was Carolina’s all-time leading rebounder with 1,219 until Armando Bacot broke his record last season.
