McKoy scores career-high 18 in road win; Adams, Garcia, Todd-Williams have good road league games; Love hits 16 for Arizona

Justin McKoy, Destiny Adams, Dawson Garcia and Kennedy Todd-Williams all had good games this week in conference road contests, while Caleb Love helped No. 10 Arizona rebound from a loss.

McKoy scored a career-high 18 points and tied his career-high with three 3-pointers as Hawaii ended a three-game losing streak with a 78–67 victory over CSU Bakersfield for the Rainbow Warriors’ first Big West victory.

The top four career point totals for McKoy, who fouled out in the final minutes, have all come this season, with his previous high 15 points on Nov. 15 against Hawaii-Hilo. He made 6 of 9 shots from the floor and 3 of 5 from 3-point range, with three rebounds and a steal for Hawaii (9–5, 1–1 Big West).


Adams collected 23 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks for her fourth double-double of the season and made all 11 free-throw attempts Tuesday in Rutgers’ 77–76 road loss to Purdue.

The Scarlet Knights (6–10, 0–3 Big Ten) host Caitlin Clark and No. 4 Iowa at 6 p.m. Friday (Big Ten Network) in a game that’s sold out.


Garcia had his third double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds as Minnesota (11–3, 2–1 Big Ten) won 73–71 at Michigan on Thursday night. Garcia also contributed three assists, and leads the Gophers in scoring at 17.2 points per game.


Todd-Williams came off the bench to collect 10 points and seven rebounds as Ole Miss downed Alabama 55–45, and the Rebels (11–3, 1–0 SEC) won their fifth straight game.


On Thursday, Caleb Love had 16 points and three rebounds as No. 10 Arizona (11–3, 2–1 Pac-12) rebounded from a weekend loss at Stanford with a 97–50 home victory over Colorado.


Ahead of Texas Tech’s Big 12 opener Saturday at No. 20 Texas (ESPN2), Kerwin Walton started for the fifth consecutive game as the Red Raiders finished non-conference play 11–2 with an 85–57 home win Monday over North Alabama.

Walton, who is shooting 55.6% from the floor and 54.1% from 3-point range, had nine points in 26 minutes in the game.


Dontrez Styles had nine points and two rebounds Tuesday as Georgetown (7–7, 0–3 Big East) lost 77–60 at home to Creighton.

In Penn State’s 92–61 Thursday loss at Michigan State, Puff Johnson had five points and five rebounds, while D’Marco Dunn contributed four points and two rebounds. The Nittany Lions (7–7, 1–2 Big Ten) had won their previous two games.


Will Shaver had two points in three minutes in UAB’s 78–76 Tuesday win over Texas-San Antonio in the American opener for the Blazers (9–5, 1–0 American.)
