Incoming Carolina freshman guard Ian Jackson dished out a team-high four assists Saturday night as the USA team rolled to a 98–75 victory over the World team at the 25th Nike Hoops Summit in Portland.
The Americans, who are 18–7 in the event, pulled away from a close game by outscoring the World team 30–15 in the fourth quarter. Jackson assisted on a 3-pointer by Rutgers recruit Ace Bailey to stretch the lead to 15.
Jackson started and played 18 minutes, going 1 of 5 from the floor for two points, five rebounds, two turnovers and was +3. His points came on a transition dunk with 5:11 left in the first quarter.
On April 2, Jackson scored 21 points in Houston to lead his East team to an 88–86 victory over the West in the McDonald’s All-American Game in Houston.
Duke recruit Cooper Flagg, who picked up three first-half fouls, led the USA with 19 points and 11 rebounds to become the first American to notch a double-double in the game since Bol Bol had 12 points and 14 rebounds in 2018.
Another Duke recruit, Patrick Ngongba II, had foot surgery in November and didn’t play.
The United States outrebounded the World team 58–35, including a 17–5 advantage in offensive rebounds.
