Former Kentucky wing Adou Thiero is, of course, considering following Coach John Calipari to Arkansas, but Carolina is reportedly also in his final five.
ESPN’s Jeff Borzello reported that the projected first-round pick in the 2025 NBA draft is considering Arkansas, UNC, Pittsburgh, Kentucky and Indiana. Coming out of high school in Pittsburgh, he picked the Wildcats over Xavier, Duquesne, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Maryland.
Thiero, 6–6, 200 pounds, has two years of remaining eligibility after averaging 5.0 points and 3.6 rebounds in two seasons with the Wildcats. After not starting once during his freshman season, Thiero started 19 of 25 games last season, averaging 7.2 points and 5.0 rebounds and blocking 27 shots (the second-most on the team).
In Kentucky’s 87–83 victory on Dec. 16 in Atlanta over UNC, he came off the bench to contribute seven points and blocked a career-high four shots in 17 minutes.
Thiero scored in double figures five times last season, topped by his only career double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds in Kentucky’s 89–84 loss to then-No. 1 Kansas in Chicago on Nov. 14.
