Eight former Tar Heels will play in the NBA Summer League this month, including four UNC alums who have already played in the NBA and another with G League experience.
The rookies who will play are Harrison Ingram, the San Antonio Spurs’ second-round pick, and two who signed Exhibit 10 contracts — Armando Bacot of the Utah Jazz and Cormac Ryan of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The latter two, teammates on last season’s UNC team, will play against each other in Salt Lake City at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday (ESPN2).

Walker Kessler, who was a rookie last season after playing his second college season at Auburn, will also be on the Jazz’s roster after not playing in the Summer League last summer. Bacot and Kessler played the 2020–21 season together in Chapel Hill. Former Duke center Kyle Filipowski, who the Jazz picked in the second round of last week’s NBA draft, will also play for Utah.
Leaky Black will play for the second consecutive season for the Charlotte Hornets’ Summer League team. Pete Nance will play for the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Summer League team for a second straight year, and one of his teammates this month will be former N.C. State center D.J. Burns.
Tony Bradley, who has NBA experience but played last season for the G League’s Texas Legends, will play on Philadelphia’s Summer League team.
Garrison Brooks will play for the Chicago Bulls’ Summer League team. After finishing his college career in 2022 at Mississippi State, Brooks played for the G League’s Westchester Knicks in 2022-23. Last season, he played for the Wonju DB Promy team in the Korean Basketball League. Last summer, Brooks played for the New Orleans Pelicans’ Summer League team.
The Spurs and Hornets will play in the California Summer Classic League in Sacramento, which runs Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday. The Jazz and Thunder will play in the Salt Lake City Summer League, which features games Monday through Wednesday. All teams will play in NBA 2K25 Summer League games in Las Vegas, with the schedule running from July 12 to 22.

The regular schedule concludes on July 19, with the championship tournament set for July 20 through July 22.
There will be a matchup of Tar Heels on Saturday in Sacramento when the Spurs face the Hornets at 8:30 p.m. ET (NBATV).
