Ingram shines with double-double; Bacot makes Summer League debut

By R.L. Bynum

Harrison Ingram turned in his best NBA Summer League performance on Tuesday with a double-double in the San Antonio Spurs’ win over China on a night that Armando Bacot made his debut in the league.

Ingram, who combined for 14 points and 11 rebounds in the Spurs’ first two games, collected 16 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals in San Antonio’s 89–67 victory Tuesday in Sacramento over the China National Team.

“Harrison made quicker decisions when he caught the ball, and it showed,” Spurs coach Kenny Trevino said. “It showed not only for himself, but it showed for his teammates as well when he’s able to collapse the defense so we can play together.”

After Ingram combined to go 2 of 10 from 3-point range in the Spurs first two games, he was 3 of 5 against China.

It was the Spurs’ first win in three games. They will travel to Las Vegas on Saturday to face Portland at 9 p.m. ET (ESPN2).

On Tuesday, Cormac Ryan and Armando Bacot faced each other as Ryan’s Oklahoma City team beat Bacot’s Utah team 98–75 in Salt Lake City.

Ryan had six points on 2 of 10 shooting from 3-point range in Monday’s 102–92 loss to Philadelphia and had eight points and two 3-pointers in 15 minutes against the Jazz.

In Utah’s first game Monday, a 97–95 victory over Memphis, Walker Kessler had 10 points, six rebounds, five blocks, two assists and two steals, while Bacot didn’t get into the game.

Kessler didn’t play against the Thunder on Tuesday, but Bacot scored four points, with five rebounds and a block in seven minutes.

Leaky Black started for the third straight game as Charlotte moved to 3–0 with an 86–82 victory over Sacramento in Sacramento. He was scoreless in 23 minutes but was a team-high +19 with seven rebounds and three assists.

Tony Bradley hasn’t played (coach’s decision) in either of Philadelphia’s games in Salt Lake City, a 102–92 Monday win over the Thunder and Tuesday’s 87–85 loss against Memphis.

In Salt Lake Citiy on Wednesday, the Thunder faces Memphis at 7 p.m. (NBATV) and the 76ers meet Utah at 9 p.m. (ESPN2).
