How to watch UNC-NCCU game, which won’t be on regular TV channel

By R.L. Bynum

If you aren’t at Kenan Stadium for Carolina’s football game against N.C. Central, watching the game from home could be challenging.

The 6 p.m. game will not be shown on a regular television channel and will exclusively stream on ESPN3, branded as ACC Network Extra for streamed ACC games.

To access the game, you must be an authenticated subscriber to one of the following TV providers: AT&T TV, Cox, DirecTV, Dish Network, fuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, Optimum, Sling TV, Spectrum TV, Suddenlink, Verizon Fios, Xfinity TV, YouTube TV U-Verse or Vidgo. You also have access if you are a North Central Telephone Cooperative (NCTC) member or have ACC Network access through TV-connected devices.

ESPN and Disney resolved their dispute with DirecTV on Saturday morning, restoring the ESPN channels and restoring DirecTV customers’ access to ESPN3.

Kevin Fitzgerald, former Louisville, Texas and South Florida coach Charlie Strong and Ashley Stroehein, a sports anchor at WCNC in Charlotte, will be on the ESPN3 call of the game.

Fans who cannot attend or stream the game can listen to the Tar Heel Sports Network, with Jones Angell, former Carolina quarterback Bryn Renner and Lee Pace on the call.
