Four-star guard Lewis has UNC in his all blue-blood final four

By R.L. Bynum

Four-star 6–3 point guard Acaden Lewis, the No. 28 player in the Class of 2025, has North Carolina among the final four schools — all blue bloods — he is considering.

Lewis announced Saturday afternoon on X (formerly Twitter) that his list is down to UNC, Duke, Kentucky and UConn.

“They each represent four of the biggest stages in college basketball, and I will have the opportunity to play early at each school,” Lewis told ESPN’s Paul Biancardi. “I try and stay consistent. My coaches and small circle keep me on path.”

The 180-pound Lewis plays for Sidwell Friends School in Washington, where he averaged 14.5 points, six rebounds, and four assists as a junior last season.

Lewis averaged 6.1 assists during the EYBL season playing for Team Melo, which ranked among the top three, trailing only Cayden Boozer (6.5) and Keyshaun Tillery (6.3), according to the Augusta Press.

Here’s what Lewis told On3 about UNC:

“Coach [Hubert] Davis, [Jeff] Lebo, and the rest of the staff have also done a really good job of recruiting me,” Lewis said. “They’ve been really active planning out the home visit and now I have my official visit that I’ve put out for October 4th, so ready to get up there.

“I’ve been up there on an unofficial already, and they showed me a good time,” he said. “I went to practice and everything. It’s a guard school. They play really fast and let their guards make the decisions. With [Armando] Bacot not being there now, I’m interested to see how that changes up their dynamics. They let their guards rock out, and I could see myself playing in their system.”

Roster assuming all players with eligibility other than Caleb Wilson, Henri Veesaar and the seven players who entered the transfer portal return, which would put UNC two under the 15-player limit. The class for next season is listed.
