Coby White scored 20 points and five of Chicago’s franchise-record-tying 25 3-pointers as the Bulls rallied from a 20-point deficit in Memphis to beat the Grizzlies 126–123.
If the first four games are any indication, the Bulls (2–2) will need White to play well to earn wins this season.
White averaged 9.5 points in Chicago’s two losses, going 0 of 14 from 3-point range. In Chicago’s home loss Saturday to Oklahoma City, White scored nine points on 3 of 12 shooting.
In the Bulls’ two victories, White is averaging 22.5 points and is 12 of 23 from behind the arc.
Zach LaVine scored 11 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter to lead the comeback on a night that nine Bulls scored 3-pointers.
Memphis led 50–30 with 5:36 left in the first half and 94–79 with 3:16 remaining in the third quarter before Chicago rallied. White’s 3-pointer with 6:01 left in the game gave the Bulls a 117–112 lead, and they never trailed after that.
Cameron Johnson collected 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in Brooklyn’s 115–102 home win over Milwaukee, the first win of the season for the Nets (1–2).
Day’Ron Sharpe still hasn’t made his season debut as he recovers from a hamstring injury.
San Antonio split a pair of home games against Houston, winning 109–106 on Saturday and losing 106–101 on Monday. Harrison Barnes contributed 11 points and three rebounds on Saturday but only had two points and three rebounds on Monday.
Harrison Ingram, expected to play for the Spurs’ G League affiliate in Austin, was inactive for both games and still hasn’t made his NBA debut.
Walker Kessler has two double-doubles in three games after collecting 12 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in Utah’s 110–102 Monday loss at Dallas, but the Jazz fell to 0–3.
Orlando is off to a 3–1 start, but Cole Anthony is struggling with limited playing time.
Anthony had four points and two assists in eight minutes of Saturday’s 124–11 loss at Memphis and was scoreless in 11 minutes during Monday’s 119–115 home victory over Indiana. It was Anthony’s first scoreless game since Dec. 5, 2022, against Milwaukee.
Through four games, Anthony is shooting 18.8% from the floor and 10% from 3-point range.
