Tar Heels in pros: Another Bacot double-double; big games from Ingram, Little, Nance, Johnson, White & Barnes

By R.L. Bynum

Armando Bacot produced his fourth double-double in five games and kept the perimeter proficiency coming.

Bacot hit a pair of 3-pointers on Wednesday afternoon after big nights on Tuesday in the G League from forwards Harrison Ingram, Nassir Little and Pete Nance, and in the NBA from Brooklyn forward Cameron Johnson, Chicago guard Coby White and San Antonio forward Harrison Barnes.

Bacot had 11 points and 10 rebounds, notching his 10th rebound in the last minute of the game. He also had two assists and a block as his Memphis Hustle won their second consecutive game after losing the first three, winning a home game 123–118 over Osceola in a game that started at 11:30 a.m.

In G League games Tuesday, Ingram has a good all-around game with 12 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals in the Austin Spurs’ 120–115 home win over Mexico City.

Little had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds while blocking two shots, leading the Sioux Falls Skyforce to a 121–109 win at Wisconsin.

Nance had 29 points, four 3-pointers, four rebounds and five assists to lead the Cleveland Charge to a 129–119 home win over Windy City.

Leaky Black came off the bench to contribute 11 points and nine rebounds in the Capital City Go-Go’s 110–109 home victory over Raptors 905.

Johnson scored 34 points and six 3-pointers in 38 minutes to lead Brooklyn to a 116–115 home victory over the Charlotte Hornets. Johnson made all six free-throw attempts and had five rebounds, four assists and two blocks.

It was the second-highest-scoring game in Johnson’s NBA career, behind his 38 points for Phoenix against New York on March 4, 2022. It was the seventh time Johnson scored at least six 3-pointers.

Nets teammate Day’Ron Sharpe is still battling a left hamstring strain and hasn’t made his season debut.
