Bill Belichick signed his contract to coach North Carolina, which is worth $50 million over five years. The first three years are guaranteed on the deal, which includes plenty of bonuses, such as:
— $150,000 if the team’s GPA is 3.0 or higher.
— $200,000 for making the ACC title game.
— $300,000 for winning the ACC title.
— $150,000 for making a bowl outside of the College Football Playoff.
— $350,000 for making the Pop-Tarts Bowl, Gator Bowl or Duke’s Mayo Bowl.
— $750,000 for making the College Football Playoff.
— $1 million for making the CFP quarterfinals.
— $1.25 million for making the CFP semifinals.
— $1.5 million for making the CFP championship.
—$1.75 million for winning the national championship.
