Armando Bacot had it all going Wednesday afternoon, ahead of playing in Sunday’s G League Up Next event, the week he’s featured on “The Break” docuseries.

Bacot scored a career-high 35 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for his 13th double-double of the season to lead his Memphis Hustle to a convincing 129–112 home victory over the Mexico City Capitanes.

Bacot was 13 of 23 from the floor, 1 of 3 from 3-point range and made 5 of 6 free-throw attempts in addition to dishing out two assists and getting a steal.

Bacot will play in the Up Next event at 3:30 p.m. Sunday (televised on Tubi and the NBA app) at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

The event features four teams (see rosters below), with the semifinal winners meeting in the championship game. Former Clemson forward P.J. Hall of the Grand Rapids Gold will play on Team Braxton with Bacot.

Bacot is averaging 14.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game, shooting 43.9% from the floor and making 31.7% of his 3-point attempts.

In the latest episode of “The Break” (above video), he reflects on his journey, what he’d tell his younger self and how his relentless mindset will translate to the next level. Bacot contends that NBA teams look for players who can bring a physical presence and a winning mentality and makes the case that he’s one of those guys who can do that.

The Hustle is 15–19, 12th in the G League’s Western Conference.
