Ingram has huge game with double-double, 6 assists as Spurs win thriller, clinch semifinal berth

By R.L. Bynum

Harrison Ingram had his best game of the NBA Summer League with a double-double to lead the unbeaten San Antonio Spurs to a semifinal berth with a thrilling overtime victory Monday night.

The former UNC standout stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, a team-leading 14 rebounds and a team-leading six assists in nearly 32 minutes as the Spurs overcame a big game from former Duke star Kyle Filipowski to beat the Utah Jazz 93–91 in overtime at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Ingram, who was 4 of 9 from the floor, made 3 of 6 3-point attempts and started for the third consecutive game, made the inbounds pass with 1.3 seconds left in the two-minute overtime to Riley Minix, who made a turnaround, fadeaway baseline jumper at the buzzer to win it for San Antonio.

A second earlier, Filipowski drove past Ingram for a layup to tie the game. Filipowski finished with 35 points, 11 rebounds and five 3-pointers.

The Spurs (3–0), who have a league-high point differential of +26 despite the narrow victory,  play Charlotte at 7 p.m. Thursday (ESPN) before playing in the semifinals at either 4 p.m. or 6 p.m. Saturday (ESPN).

Later on Monday night, the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Los Angeles Clippers 67–58, with RJ Davis not playing for the Lakers (coach’s decision). He had played in the Lakers’ first five games.

Former UNC players in action on Tuesday are:
— Garrison Brooks and Dawson Garcia, whose Detroit Pistons meet the Minnesota Timberwolves at 4:30 p.m. on NBATV.
