RJ Davis is one of four players who signed Exhibit 10 training-camp contracts with the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday.
Under the Exhibit 10 contracts, Davis will attend training camp with the Lakers, and if he doesn’t make the team, he could be assigned to their G League team, the South Bay Lakers. His deal could also be converted to a two-way contract.
An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, minimum-salary, non-guaranteed deal.
Rookie former Vanderbilt guard Chris Mañon and former Arizona center Christian Koloko have two of the Lakers’ three available two-way contracts. Fourteen of the Lakers’ 15 standard roster spots are accounted for.
Also signing Saturday with the Lakers were former St. Mary’s guard Augustas Marčiulionis, former Villanova forward Eric Dixon and former Creighton, Kansas State and Texas forward Arthur Kaluma.
Lakers guards signed for next season in addition to Mañon and Marciulionis are Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, Marcus Smart, Gabe Vincent, Bronny James and Adou Thiero.
In seven NBA Summer League games, Davis averaged 14.6 minutes, 6.1 points, 2.6 assists, 1 rebound and 0.6 of a steal while shooting 38.1% from the floor, 23.8% from 3-point range and 66.7% from the free-throw line.
His best game was during the Lakers’ 106–84 loss Friday, July 18, to the Denver Nuggets, when he scored 17 points and three 3-pointers while dishing out three assists and getting a steal.
Davis is the all-time leading free-throw shooter in UNC program history, having completed a five-year college career that included earning ACC Player of the Year honors in the 2023–24 season.
