UNC men’s basketball to stage Blue-White game on Oct. 4

By R.L. Bynum

Fans will get a first chance to see the new-look North Carolina men’s basketball team on Oct. 4 in a Blue-White scrimmage following the Clemson football game.

The scrimmage is free, and the Smith Center doors will open 15 minutes after the conclusion of the football game, with the scrimmage scheduled to begin an hour after the football game.

It could be a welcome shift for UNC fans just like last season’s Blue-White game, which came after James Madison blew out the football team 70–50.

In other scheduling news, UNC’s game against Ohio State in Atlanta at the CBS Sports Classic will start at 3 p.m., with the opener between St. John’s and Kentucky tipping off at 12:30 p.m.

Carolina has 10 newcomers to the team, including Colorado State point guard transfer Kyan Evans (top photo).

There are 500 reserve tickets available for $150, which come with exclusive access to a one-item autograph session with the team. You can purchase one of those tickets here.

Parking will follow standard football game procedures, so if you’re only coming for basketball, UNC encourages fans to take advantage of the Tar Heel Express park-and-ride shuttles. Get information on that here.

UNC opens exhibition play at 9 p.m. ET on Oct. 24 at BYU, then faces Winston-Salem State in a Smith Center exhibition on Oct. 29. The Tar Heels open the season at home on Nov. 3 against Central Arkansas.

Roster assuming all players with eligibility other than Caleb Wilson, Henri Veesaar and the seven players who entered the transfer portal return, which would put UNC two under the 15-player limit. The class for next season is listed.
