Subscription makes Tar Heel Tribune ads disappear

By R.L. Bynum

For readers who enjoy the Tar Heel Tribune’s coverage of Carolina athletics but not the clutter that comes with online advertising, there’s now a simple solution.

The Tribune is offering an ad‑free subscription, giving fans a cleaner, smoother reading experience without the flashing banners, slow-loading elements, or those especially annoying pop‑up ads that interrupt the flow of a good story.

Readers can choose to go ad-free for $7 a month or $50 a year, a price designed to make a streamlined experience accessible while supporting the work to cover the Tar Heels across the country. In August, that coverage will stretch to Dublin, Ireland.

Subscribers will still sometimes (but not currently) see static, non-intrusive ads for UNC‑related books, keeping the atmosphere Tar Heel‑centric without the noise of outside advertisers. Everything else — auto-play videos, animated banners, floating ads and pop‑ups — is removed for subscribers.

The goal is simple: let fans read about North Carolina athletics without distractions.

If you want to take advantage of that option, use the prompt below.

Thanks for your support of Tar Heel Tribune.
