Tar Heels in pros: Ryan, Nance both have career-highs; Davis wins in G League playoffs; Ingram gets 29th double-double; Love back in NBA

By R.L. Bynum

Cormac Ryan and Pete Nance both set career NBA highs for Milwaukee on Wednesday night in the Bucks’ 119–113 loss at Houston, as RJ Davis’ South Bay Lakers advanced in the G League playoffs and Harrison Ingram produced his G League-best 29th double-double.

Ryan played more than 38 minutes off the bench, and put up career-highs of 25 points and four 3-pointers while dishing out four assists. His previous high was 13 points in Sunday’s 127–113 home loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Nance started and played nearly 31 minutes, pouring in a career-high 23 points and tying his career high with five 3-pointers, with three rebounds. His previous high was 19 points for Milwaukee on April 13, 2025, when he also scored five 3-pointers.

In the G League playoffs, which are single-elimination until the conference finals, Davis collected five points and seven assists in his South Bay Lakers’ 122–119 home win on Wednesday in a Western Conference quarterfinal against the San Diego Clippers.

South Bay next hosts the Rio Grand Valley Vipers at 10 p.m. Friday (Prime Video) in a Western Conference semifinal.

The Vipers eliminated Ingram’s Austin Spurs on Tuesday with a 117–116 home victory. Ingram did what he has done so many times this season: put up a double-double. He finished his G League season with 16 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists and four steals for his 29th double-double of the season.

It’s unclear whether Ingram will get into any NBA games with the San Antonio Spurs, given that his G League season is over.

The Spurs (58–18, second in the Western Conference) won their 10th consecutive game on Wednesday night with a 127–113 victory at Golden State. Harrison Barnes, coming off the bench for the fifth consecutive game, contributed 13 points, three 3-pointers, six rebounds and three assists.

Leaky Black didn’t play in either the Washington Wizards’ 153–131 Wednesday home loss to Philadelphia or the G League’s Capital City Go-Go’s 126–123 quarterfinal Wednesday win over the Cleveland Charge.

Caleb Love has been playing for the Rip City Remix in the G League. But instead of playing in Wednesday’s 113–108 quarterfinal win at Mexico City, he is with Portland.

Love was scoreless in nearly 8½ minutes of the Trail Blazers’ 130–99 win on March 25 against Milwaukee. In Tuesday’s 114–104 win at the Los Angeles Clippers, he played a little over a minute and scored two points.

In a battle of former Tar Heels on Tuesday, Coby White had 16 points and five assists as Charlotte took a 117–86 win at Brooklyn. Drake Powell started for the Nets, contributing 10 points and six rebounds in just over 28 minutes.

Cameron Johnson had 19 points and nine rebounds in Denver’s 130–117 victory Wednesday at Utah.
