When UNC seeks its third all-time win over Notre Dame and the first since 2008 on Saturday at Kenan Stadium, the Tar Heels will play at noon for the fourth consecutive game.
ESPN and the ACC, which on Monday put the game on a six-day hold, announced late Saturday that the game will start at noon and air on ESPN. That means that the Chase Rice show in front of the Wilson Library as part of the Chapel Thrill Concert Series will start at 9 a.m.
The other ACC game that was on a six-day hold, No. 7 Miami at Clemson, starts at 7:30 and will air on ABC.
The No. 3 Irish (4–0), who rolled to a 49–10 win at Purdue on Saturday, and are undefeated in September for the first time under Coach Marcus Freeman. Notre Dame will seek its sixth consecutive victory over Carolina since the Tar Heels beat Notre Dame 29–24 on Oct. 11, 2008. The NCAA, however, officially vacated that win because of NCAA violations.
Notre Dame, an early 21½-point favorite, leads the all-time series 21–1 (not counting UNC’s 2008 victory), with the Tar Heels winning 12–7 in Kenan Stadium on Oct. 8, 1960.
