UNC’s men play four 9 p.m. games, three at noon; home men’s, women’s games overlap on Dec. 6

By R.L. Bynum

CHARLOTTE — Four 9 o’clock Carolina games and three at noon are on the full men’s basketball schedule, with times and TV designations released on Wednesday.

Those 9 p.m. games are the home game against Marshall on Nov. 2, the game at Louisville on Jan. 5, the home game with Virginia on Jan. 19 and the March 2 contest at Pittsburgh.

The noon starts are Dec. 12 at Georgetown, Jan. 9 at home against N.C. State and Jan. 23 at Syracuse.

While the first Duke game on Feb. 13 in Durham will start at 5:30 p.m. on ABC, as previously announced, the second game on Senior Night at the Smith Center will be either at 6 or 6:30.

The first four home games, beginning with the season opener on Nov. 2 against Western Carolina, all start at 7 p.m. before that late Marshall game.

In an unfortunate quirk of the schedule, thanks to ESPN, the Carolina women play a 2 p.m. home game against Elon on Dec. 6 on ACC Network, and the UNC men host Butler at 3 p.m. the same afternoon on ESPN2.

Two games could be challenges for some fans to see. The 5 p.m. Oct. 18 exhibition game against Indiana in Indianapolis airs on Big Ten Network Plus. The game at Georgetown streams on Peacock.

Carolina has three games on The CW: the Dec. 21 8 p.m. home contest against The Citadel and a pair of 2:15 home starts: Jan. 16 against Stanford and Feb. 6 against Georgia Tech.

Get the full schedule with times and TV designations below, although there are seven games when the ESPN channel hasn’t been selected.
