CHAPEL HILL — “Scotty Boy, just keep doing what you’re doing, and it will happen.” Those were the words to North Carolina coach Scott Forbes from legendary coach Roy Williams after UNC made it to the College World Series Finals, only to come up short in the deciding game against Oklahoma.
Jamie Laskofski hasn’t played a game for North Carolina yet, but is already considered the best hitter to change addresses this offseason. D1 Baseball on Tuesday named the shortstop, who transferred to UNC from William & Mary in June, the No. 1 transfer hitter in the country.

North Carolina snagged its second catcher from the transfer portal, and didn’t have to go very far to get him. After two seasons at Duke, Macon Winslow is transferring to UNC. He made the announcement Monday afternoon on his Instagram account, calling it a “New Chapter.”
