CHAPEL HILL — It wasn’t always smooth, but that can be expected in the opener for a roster shuffled with numerous offseason changes. Carolina back in AP Top 25 football poll, moves up in Coaches Poll
Carolina’s blowout home victory over Campbell was enough to move the Tar Heels up in the Coaches Poll and return to the AP Top 25. UNC (7–2, 3–2 ACC), which pummeled the Camels 59–7 on Saturday, moved up two spots to No. 23 in the Coaches Poll and returned to the AP poll at No. 24.
No. 19 UNC’s versatility fuels more aggressive — and likely more efficient — defensive approach
Among the many reasons North Carolina’s men’s basketball team often struggled last season was its inability to defend ball screens. The No. 19 Tar Heels, who open the season at 7 p.m. Monday at the Smith Center against Radford (ACC Network), have the versatility to handle screens better this season and, at least in the 117–53 exhibition victory over Division II St. Augustine’s, took a dramatically different approach.
