Fans worried about sweltering in the August heat during Carolina’s football opener against Florida A&M will at least get some relief.
The Tar Heels’ season-opening game will start at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27 and air on ACC Network.
That’s one of three times announced on Thursday. The Sept. 3 game at Appalachian State and the Sept. 10 game at Georgia State will both be Saturday noon starts and air on ESPNU.
The N.C. State game, this year in Chapel Hill, will again be on the day after Thanksgiving. The Friday, Nov. 25 game will start at either noon, 1 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. and air on either ABC or ESPN.
As with anything in sports these days, these times were announced by ESPN, which also owns ACC Network. More starting times aren’t likely to be announced until 12 days before each game unless ESPN decided to wait until six days before a game.
