Tar Heels in Summer League: Both score 10 as Sharpe gets double-double in Nets’ win over Jackson’s Celtics; Manek plays his most minutes in league

Day’Ron Sharpe and Justin Jackson finished their NBA Summer League play Saturday night with Sharpe’s Brooklyn team knocking off Jackson’s Boston team 102–96 and Sharpe putting up his fourth double-double in five games.

Both scored 10 points, with Sharpe adding 10 rebounds and three assists, finishing the league averaging 12.8 points and 10 rebounds per game. Jackson, who was 4 of 15 from the floor in 30 minutes, had five rebounds and three assists and averaged 15 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists in four games.

Brooklyn and Boston both finished 3–2.

In Charlotte’s final Summer League game, an 89–86 loss to Minnesota, Brady Manek played 19 minutes, the most playing time he had in the five Hornets Summer League games. He collected five points, one rebound and three assists, shooting 2 of 7 from the floor and 1 of 5 from 3-point range.

After a plus/minus of +43 in the first three games, he was -10 in the last two games, including -6 against the Timberwolves. Charlotte finished 2–3.

Garrison Brooks’ New York Knicks team lost to Portland 85–77 Sunday in the Summer League championship game. After going scoreless and playing three minutes in each of the Knicks’ first two games, Brooks didn’t get in New York’s last three games.
