Tre Boston co-host for new ACCN show; two ACCN shows to air at UNC next week

Former UNC and NFL defensive back Tre Boston will be a co-host for a new ACC Network weekday program that debuts Monday.

Boston, Mark Packer and Taylor Tannebaum will be co-hosts for “ACC PM,” a football-focused program weekdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. It will be broadcast from the same studio in the basement of Packer’s Charlotte home used for the weekday morning show “Packer and Durham,” which was discontinued earlier this summer. Its last episode was July 1.

Joel Berry II and K.J. Smith have worked on ACC Network, but Boston is the first UNC alum to be a co-host on the network.

Boston played four seasons at UNC and made second-team All-ACC in 2013, his senior season, finishing his career with 274 tackles and 12 interceptions. He played seven years in the NFL after the Carolina Panthers picked him in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft. He was part of the 2016 NFC champions. He’s been out of the league since the Panthers released him in March 2021.

“I’m made for this job,” Boston told the Charlotte Observer. “I love it. My biggest thing is, I want to continue to be informed, to bring energy and to have fun. I want people to see my energy through the screen.”

Tannebaum, a Florida State graduate, joins ACCN after four years as a sports anchor and reporter at WTHR in Indianapolis.

“We are excited to have Taylor and Tre join our ACCN team and team up with Pack in the basement” said Aaron Katzman, ACCN coordinating producer. “All three have special ties to the ACC with Taylor growing up in South Florida and graduating from FSU, Tre being a star on the football field at UNC, and no one is as well-versed about the conference as Mark. This trio will be sure to entertain, engage and educate viewers every weekday afternoon.”

“ACC PM” and “The ACC Huddle,” with host Jordan Cornette and analyst Eric Mac Lain, E.J. Manuel and Mark Richt, will air from Chapel Hill on Friday, Aug. 26, and Saturday, Aug. 27, respectively, ahead of Carolina’s Aug. 27 opener against Florida A&M at 8 p.m., which will air on ACCN.
