By R.L. Bynum

Garrison Brooks had the best game of his professional career to help the Westchester Knicks ended a four-game losing streak.

Brooks put up career-high totals with 26 points and 20 rebounds as the Knicks won at home against the Windy City Bulls 121–120 on Sunday. In addition to dishing out four assists and getting a block, he played a career-high 41 minutes, going 11 of 19 from the floor, both career highs, and making three of a career-high six free-throw attempts.

It was the 23rd double-double in 36 games this season for Brooks, averaging 13.2 points per game. His 11.1 rebounds per game are fifth in the league.

Brooks bettered that point total only three times with Carolina, all in his junior season in 2020, with a career-high 35 on Jan. 4 in a home loss to Georgia Tech, 30 on Feb. 25 in a home win over N.C. State and 28 in a road loss to Virginia Tech on Jan. 22.

In the NBA, Nassir Little scored the go-ahead 3-pointer with 35.2 seconds left Sunday in Portland’s 122–119 win at Orlando. The Magic had tied the game on a Markelle Fultz layup with 58 seconds left.

“The ball was swung to [Little] and he hit the biggest shot of the game,” said Damian Lillard, who led the Trail Blazers with 41 points. “It showed a lot of growth on his part.”

Little had 11 points, five rebounds and three assists for an 11.3 game score, his fifth double-digit game score of the season.

For Orlando, Cole Anthony had five points and six rebounds in 24 minutes.

It was another stat-stuffing night for Walker Kessler in Utah’s 129–119 loss Sunday at Oklahoma City, with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks. It was the 15th double-double of his rookie season and his ninth game with at least five blocks. His 17.0 game score was his 10th of at least 17 this season.

Kessler was named the Western Conference Rookie of the Month for February after averaging 10.6 points, 11.4 rebounds and 3.2 blocks, shooting 68.9%. He was the only rookie to average a double-double last month. His 3.2 blocks per game last month were second among all NBA players.

Cameron Johnson had a tough shooting night, going 3 of 13 from the floor and 1 of 7 from 3-point range, but still collected 11 points and 10 rebounds season in Brooklyn’s 102–86 home win over Charlotte for his first double-double of the season.
