North Carolina’s women stayed at No. 5 in the new United Soccer Coaches Top 25, while the Tar Heels’ men’s team fell 11 spots.
Interim Coach Damon Nahas’ team (4–0–0), which beat Georgia 4–3 on Thursday and Arizona 2–0 on Sunday in home matches, was leapfrogged by two teams — UCLA (3–0–0) moved up three spots to No. 3 and Michigan State (2–0–1) leaped four spots to No. 4.
Sophomore forward Olivia Thomas, who had three goals last week, is the ACC’s Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
Two ACC teams — No. 1 Florida State (3–0–0) and No. 2 Stanford (3–0–0) — remain atop the women’s poll. Other ACC teams in the top 10 of the women’s poll are No. 7 Virginia (3–0–0), which jumped 14 spots, and No. 9 Notre Dame (2–1–0), which fell five spots.
Two ACC teams debuted in the poll — Wake Forest (3–0–0) at No. 18 and N.C. State (1–1–1) at No. 25.
UNC’s women play two home games this week: 4 p.m. Thursday against North Dakota and 1 p.m. Sunday against Seton Hall.

In the men’s poll, UNC (1–0–1) went from No. 6 to No. 17 after winning Thursday 1–0 at UAB and playing California Baptist to a scoreless draw on Sunday.
Clemson (1–0–0) remains atop the men’s poll, with Pittsburgh (2–0–0) No. 3.
Other ACC teams in the men’s poll are No. 7 Syracuse (2–0–0; moved up 17 spots), No. 13 Stanford (1–1–0; down eight spots) and No. 15 Louisville (1–0–0; up nine spots).
Carolina’s men have home games at 7:30 Thursday against Florida International and 7:30 Monday against East Tennessee State.
