ACC to reveal league basketball openers Monday, schedules Tuesday

By R.L. Bynum

The long wait for the basketball schedules for the new 18-team ACC is almost over.

The schedules will be revealed Tuesday on ACC Network on “Nothing But Net” specials. The women’s schedule will be unveiled from 7 to 8 p.m., and the men’s schedule will be released from 8 to 9 p.m., complete with times and TV designations.

On Monday on “ACC PM,” which airs at 4 p.m., host Mark Packer will reveal each team’s first league game. UNC has already revealed that both teams will open the season at home on Nov. 4, with the women taking on Charleston Southern at 11 a.m. and the men facing Elon.

Analysts Kelly Gramlich and Muffet McGraw will join host Justin Walters for the women’s show. Analysts Luke Hancock, Seth Greenberg and Randolph Childress will be alongside host Taylor Tannebaum for the men’s show.

Analysts will offer predictions on the teams and players to watch during the upcoming season.

Six women’s teams enter the season ranked in ESPN’s Way-Too-Early Women’s Basketball Top 25, including reigning champion Notre Dame (No. 4), Final Four participant N.C. State (No. 8), Duke (No. 11), Louisville (No. 12), North Carolina (No. 17) and Florida State (No. 18).

Two men’s teams are ranked in ESPN’s Way-Too-Early Men’s Basketball Top 25 — Duke, led by freshman Cooper Flagg, (No. 8) and North Carolina (No. 10), led by reigning ACC Player of the Year RJ Davis.
