Five-star guard Mullins eliminates Duke, has UNC in his final three

By R.L. Bynum

Five-star Class of 2025 shooting guard Braylon Mullins, who visited North Carolina two weekends ago, has the Tar Heels included among the final three schools he’s considering.

Mullins cut Duke, Kentucky, Kansas and Michigan, leaving only UNC, Indiana and two-time reigning national champion UConn on his list, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. Mullins retweeted Tipton’s tweet with a link to that Tuesday story.

Of North Carolina, Mullins told Tipton:

“Loved the campus and coaching staff,” he said. “Coach [Hubert] Davis loves the way I fit into his offense. Also pitched that I can play and work for a starting spot as a freshman. The history of the school speaks for itself.”

Mullins, 6–5, 190 from Greenfield Central High School in Indiana, is ranked No. 24 on ESPN’s Class of 2025 list. He is expected to announce his choice on the On3 YouTube Channel next month.

Mullins, who visited UConn in early August and Indiana last weekend, is considered one of the best shooters in the country and bettered his national ranking with his play earlier this year in the AAU circuit with Indiana Elite.

In the championship game of the Palmetto Road Championships, he scored 22 points and four 3-pointers.

Mullins averaged 25 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3.2 steals and made 40% of his 3-point attempts last season as a junior at Greenfield Central.
