After not playing in the San Antonio Spurs’ first two games, rookie forward Harrison Ingram is expected to be assigned to their G League team, the Austin Spurs.

Ingram didn’t play in Thursday’s 120–109 loss at Dallas on opening night (listed as DNP, coach’s decison), then was listed as inactive for San Antonio’s 109–106 Saturday home win over Houston.

Ingram would be one of three players on two-way contracts on the Austin roster, along with former Providence guard David Duke Jr. and former Morehead State wing Riley Minix. Teams can have two two-way contract players on their active NBA roster at any time. Players on two-way contracts are eligible to play 50 NBA games in a season.

Austin opens the season on the road against the Osceola Magic on Friday, Nov. 8, and Sunday, Nov. 10.

San Antonio selected Ingram in the first round of the 2024 draft as the 48th overall pick. Ingram played only 24 minutes over three preseason games, collecting four points, nine rebounds, two assists and one steal.

In 37 games during his only season at Carolina, Ingram averaged 12.2 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists.

Sterling Manley is also expected to play in the G League. The Rip City Remix — the Portland Trail Blazers’ affiliate — picked Manley in the second round as the 46th overall pick in Saturday’s G League draft.

Manley, who scored 265 points over 58 games in three seasons at UNC (2017–18 through 2020–21), has played for teams in China and the Dominican Republic.
