RJ Davis and Harrison Ingram stayed hot in the G League with standout performances Sunday night as their teams continued strong starts, while Cameron Johnson delivered his best game of the season Saturday.
Davis came off the bench to score 22 points and two 3-pointers with four rebounds and three blocks in 33 minutes of the South Bay Lakers’ 108–105 victory over the Santa Cruz Warriors.
Davis is averaging 21.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.2 steals and a block per game for South Bay, which leads the West Division at 5–1.
Ingram started at guard for the Austin Spurs and registered a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds with four assists in their 130–123 victory over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Ingram is averaging a double-double for Austin, which leads the South Division at 6–1, with 15.2 points, 11.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game. Ingram is fifth in the league in rebounding average.
On Saturday night, Leaky Black collected 12 points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal in the Capital City Go-Go’s 112–107 loss to the Westchester Knicks. He’s averaging 10.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.6 steals.
In the NBA, Johnson poured in 20 points and four 3-pointers and put up a 16.3 game score, all season-highs, in the Denver Nuggets’ 128–123 home loss Saturday to the Sacramento Kings. He added five rebounds and tied his season-high with four assists.
After scoring in double figures only three times in the first 11 games, he has done it in three of the last four games.
