There were ear-splitting screams when UNC 3-pointers rippled the net. The students who packed Carmichael Arena on Wednesday enjoyed the education as the No. 17 Tar Heels schooled Hampton in a 62–32 victory in a game that started at 11 a.m.

Tar Heels in NBA: Cam Johnson hits 20, Sharpe gets double-double in Nets victory

It hasn’t taken long for Cameron Johnson to find his form after missing seven games with a left calf contusion. In his third game back in the Brooklyn lineup, Johnson scored 20 points and three 3-pointers with five rebounds, two assists and three steals as the Nets rolled to a 124–104 home victory Tuesday night over the Orlando Magic in a Group C game of the NBA In-Season Tournament.

After North Carolina’s women’s basketball team survived an upset bid against the toughest of the Tar Heels’ first four non-conference games, they play the weakest of those opponents on Wednesday. Workhorse Williams has best game of season, working back into top form for streaking Broncos

Running back Javonte Williams continued to be a workhorse for Denver and had his best game of the season Monday night as the streaking Broncos won at Buffalo 24–22. Williams gained a season-high 110 total yards — his first time over 100 this season — with 79 rushing yards on 21 carries and 31 receiving yards, catching all four passes targeted to him, and his second touchdown this season.
