CHAPEL HILL — Before heading to Florida and tougher competition at the Gulf Coast Showcase next week, No. 17 North Carolina plays one more tuneup as the banged-up Tar Heels try to get closer to full strength. The Tar Heels (3–0) welcome Elon at 3 p.m. Saturday (ESPN3), which is off to a 1–2 start and lost at No. 14 N.C. State at 90–35 on Wednesday.

It hasn’t taken long for Cameron Johnson to find his form after missing seven games with a left calf contusion. In his third game back in the Brooklyn lineup, Johnson scored 20 points and three 3-pointers with five rebounds, two assists and three steals as the Nets rolled to a 124–104 home victory Tuesday night over the Orlando Magic in a Group C game of the NBA In-Season Tournament.

Running back Javonte Williams continued to be a workhorse for Denver and had his best game of the season Monday night as the streaking Broncos won at Buffalo 24–22. Williams gained a season-high 110 total yards — his first time over 100 this season — with 79 rushing yards on 21 carries and 31 receiving yards, catching all four passes targeted to him, and his second touchdown this season.
