UNC No. 5 in ESPN’s Class of 2025 women’s basketball rankings

It’s impressive for a program to be between UConn and South Carolina in any women’s basketball rankings. That’s exactly where North Carolina lands in ESPN’s ranking of the Class of 2025. The Tar Heels come in at No. 5, just ahead of the No. 6 Huskies, the reigning national champions, and just behind the No. 4 Gamecocks, who lost to UConn in the national championship game.

UNC still No. 4 in latest poll, projected as national NCAA seed, as it fights for an ACC tournament double-bye

Five teams are within 1½ games of first place entering the final week of the ACC baseball season, meaning North Carolina still has work to do to earn one of four double-byes in the ACC tournament. The Tar Heels (37–11, 16–10 ACC), who stayed at No. 4 in the D1 Baseball poll Monday for the third consecutive poll, split a pair of games with N.C. State, which moved up three spots to No. 13, before the scheduled third game on Sunday was rained out.

UNC freshman Queiroz, two former Tar Heels play in upcoming WNBA exhibitions

Taissa Queiroz could only watch from the sidelines as North Carolina’s women’s basketball team made a run to the Sweet 16, but the incoming four-star freshman forward will be part of a couple of high-profile WNBA exhibition games this weekend. In addition, three former UNC players will make their WNBA preseason debuts in the coming days.
